Pilates + Strength Training:

While Pilates builds deep core strength and alignment, strength training plays an important role in developing overall muscle strength and stability.
At Evolve Pilates & Fitness, these two methods complement one another.
Pilates improves control, balance, and movement patterns. Strength training builds the muscular support needed for everyday life.
Together, they create a well-rounded approach to movement that helps people stay strong, capable, and active for years to come.
Meet Amy, Founder of Evolve
Evolve Pilates + Fitness is a reflection of my own journey.
I first discovered Pilates over a decade ago while taking classes at Lifetime Fitness. I didn’t know much about it at the time—I was just curious. But pretty quickly, I started to notice a difference. I felt stronger in my core, more aware of how I moved, and more connected to my body overall.
Then life got busy. Family and responsibilities took over, and Pilates became something I stepped away from for a while.
Everything changed after an injury.
I was dealing with a persistent tailbone injury that just wasn’t getting better through the usual approaches. When I came back to Pilates, it felt completely different. It wasn’t just exercise—it helped me understand what was actually going on in my body. I started to see where I was out of balance, and over time, I was able to rebuild strength, stability, and control.
It wasn’t a quick fix. Pilates takes time, patience, and consistency. But the results were real, and they lasted.
That experience made me want to go deeper. In 2023, I began my formal training in classical Pilates, continuing through certification and apprenticeship. What started as something personal became something I felt called to share with others.
When the opportunity came up to create a studio space in Minnetonka, it felt right. What started as a simple conversation turned into Evolve Pilates + Fitness—a space built around thoughtful movement, supportive instruction, and helping people feel better in their bodies.
This studio means a lot to me, because I know firsthand how powerful this work can be. My goal is to create a place where you feel comfortable, supported, and confident as you build strength and move forward—at your own pace.
